Inspired by actual events, Journey of the Broken Vessels is a reimagining of The Divine Comedy combined with The Things They Carried and The Kite Runner that follows the narrator through tragic losses, trauma, and deteriorating mental health as he and his colleagues fight to serve their community as budding family physicians. Although the narrator finds strength and beauty in his relationships with others, there is a darkness within, lingering and growing in the halls of Alta Vista Hospital and Primary Care Center.
